... the Knitting or Crochet Club that is!

Is 2017 your year to pick up some new knitting or crochet skills? Admit Ewe Knit is starting up two new afghan Block-of-the-Month Clubs! Whether you’re a knitter or a crocheter, we have a club for you! If you are brand new to these skills, here is a great opportunity to work on them with the benefit of an instructor. If you're more experienced and just looking for an ongoing project and a like-minded group, this is for you, too! At the end of the year, not only do you have a bunch of new skills in your knitting or crochet toolbox, but twelve unique squares ready to join into an afghan of your own!
Each meeting will be two hours in length. The first hour will be for those who require instruction in the technique. The "class" portion of the club will be limited to a maximum of 6 students and entail a class fee. The second hour of the meeting will be the Knit-along/Crochet-along portion of the club, where the students can practice and those who don't require instruction can join us and work on that month's square.

Sign up for 3 months of instruction at a time for $36, or one month at a time for $15 apiece. Call 919-876-4640 to sign up now!

Call AEK for more information on the Knitting portion of the club with my friend Celine.

I am providing instruction for the crochet class and support for the CAL.

Crocheted Afghan Block Club:
Pattern: Bilbie & Friends Blanket CAL 2016 by Sarit Grinberg. Pattern is available for free at http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bilbie--friends-blanket-cal-2016
Prerequisite skills: Intermediate crocheter. Must be very comfortable with basic crochet skills. Familiarity with front and back post stitches is a plus.
Skills covered in class: CABLES! From the Ravelry page: "When I decided to design a blanket as a CAL project, I knew the blanket would be about cables. It’s an area that many crocheters don’t know is possible…. The truth is, once you understand how it works, you learn how easy and simple it is, you don’t need an extra needle like when knitting cables, you can even fall in love with cables and all those possibilities."
Materials: Approximately 3688 yards of worsted or aran weight yarn; Size H crochet hook, or size suggested by chosen yarn; Scissors; Yarn or darning needle.  Yarn must be purchased at AEK.
Class Dates: Last Sunday of every month from 6:00-8:00 pm, beginning January 29, 2017.
Instructor: Pam Thomas

Note about yarn:  I've been purchasing a couple of skeins at a time at AEK.   Seems like each block is taking up a bit less than a skein.   You can see more examples as I create them on Ravelry or at AEK.
