Crochet Block Clubs - returning to crochet!

Since I teach crochet at Admit Ewe Knit in Raleigh, NC , I'm often asked (by knitters) the best way to pick up crocheting again.

If you used to know how to do it, then here are a few fast ways to get back into it:
  • A stack of dishcloths. (I stitch 2 of them together for pot holders.)
  • A scarf or cowl (especially in this cold weather!)
  • A Crochet Block Club!
There are many places to get involved in a Crochet Block Club.  Ravelry has an online Crochet block club.  I did that for 2 years.  Made a great afghan.  And now have a stack of finished blocks that I'm slowly working on joining.  Turns out that weaving in ends and joining blocks is an easy thing for me to do at my Crochet Club and Sit & Stitch sessions.

You can also find a local club.  It's a great community and crafter-fellowship opportunity.
This year, I'm participating in "Crochet Squared" at Admit Ewe KnitRavelry forum.   I think, most of my blocks this year will be non-afghan projects.  I turned my 1st block into a pillow.  And I'm thinking of making my 2nd block into my spring purse!
